This is our response to the letter Jessica Hatchette sent on 7/11/17 written in BLUE below.

She is sending out lies and misinformation to confuse people and make them scared of using our voice. This is precisely when we need to come together, especially with contract renewals right around the corner. They know that when we are united, they can’t stop us for getting fair treatment.

How do I edit the SOSi contract?

Here are three options:

1. Download a program that allows you to edit PDF documents. Here is one such program:

2. Copy and paste the SOSi document into a Word document and edit with the word document.

3. Print out the the SOSi contract and write on it neatly. Then scan the document in to submit it to Egnyte.


Beeson Tayer & Bodien, a firm specializing in labor law, have filed a lawsuit agianst SOSi claiming violations to wages and hours. SOSi immigration interpreters forced to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week will have opportunity to benefit from this suit.

Complaint has broad implications for labor movement and immigration courts

June 5, 2017 – SOS International, the company that provides interpreting services for federal immigration courts, illegally misclassified its employees as independent contractors and fired interpreters who spoke out, according to a complaint filed by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on May 31. 

Officials at the Department of Justice probably didn’t realize they were about to wreak havoc on federal immigration courts when they signed an exclusive contract for interpreting services with a new company in 2015.

And they certainly didn’t realize that signing the new agency — SOS International — would provide the impetus for a spirited union organizing campaign among the 700-1,000 foreign-language interpreters that serve the nation’s overburdened immigration courts.
